I'd like to ask a question about that endlessly controversial topic, bicycles on the roads. In a number of places in the County (such as parts of Colesville Road) advising that bicyclists may use the full lane. But aren't cyclists still required to keep up with/not impede the flow of traffic, based on the posted speed limit. For example, the speed limit on Colesville is 40 mph. How slow is a cyclist allowed to go before he is considered to be impeding traffic? This isn't a theoretical question. Thank you

I was in the car driving down 270 and I look and I see a police officer driving about 15-20 miles over the speed limit without their lights on. why is that? thanks

They drive above the speed limit for many reasons, not all calls they go to are "lights and sirens," they could be backing up another officer, or trying to catch up to different vehicles enforcing traffic laws. Also, let's be honest most drivers on 270 go about 15mph over to begin with, 70 mph is about average on that road, because the road is designed for those speeds. Most police officers don't enforce speeding on 270 until a person goes over 80mph.

Question: It's supposedly illegal to pass a bus at a bus stop, and then cut in front to make a right turn. But, some bus stops are not at the corner, but further back. How far back can the bus stop be (e.g., mid-block?) so that I can pass it and make a right turn?

If I approach an intersection, and there is a school bus to my left, with its flashing red lights on, am I allowed to make a right turn (away from the bus)?

I'd like to know why your officers are so unprofessional and abuse the authority they have, one in particular, LaPorte who instead of making people feel safer act like something out of a B cop movie. That be said maybe you should have higher standards and take complaints regarding officers misconduct more seriously.

There were a number of "theft from vehicle" incidents in Wheaton Forest near Glen Haven in July. My credit card, stolen from my vehicle, was used to purchase metro tickets at the Wheaton Metro station the morning of the theft. Are there security cameras at the station that could be used to ID the suspects?

Can you talk about right-of-way intersection rules in terms of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists? Who has the right-of-way, for example, if a car is turning right on a red and a pedestrian is crossing on the same red? Should bikes be on sidewalks or in streets? Thanks for taking these questions!
