UPDATE: Possible Suspect in Custody After Capital One Bank Robbery

The armed robbery in Wheaton occurred Monday afternoon, police said.

Montgomery County police have a possible suspect in custody in connection with the armed robbery that occurred at the Capital One Bank in Wheaton Monday afternoon, a police spokesperson said.

Update, 5:18 p.m.

Montgomery County police have released a suspect description in the wake of an armed robbery at the Capital One Bank on Georgia Avenue Monday afternoon in Wheaton.

Police described the suspect as a white male with short black hair and a black jacket. He obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the bank before fleeing the scene, a police spokesperson said.

Montgomery County police are responding to the report of a bank robbery Monday afternoon at Capital One Bank at 11241 Georgia Avenue in Wheaton.

A police spokesperson who spoke with Patch at 4:22 p.m. confirmed that the call came in at 4:10 p.m. and that officers are on their way.
