Crime Report: Robberies at Glenmont Metro Station

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Montgomery County police have released the latest crime report for the Fourth District, from Jan. 7-15. The list published here is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or near Wheaton. 

Strong-Arm Robberies

A strong-arm robbery occurred at the Glenmont Metro Station on Sunday, Jan. 13, at 5:50 a.m.  The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property. 

strong-arm robbery occurred in the 2000 block of Randolph Road, Wheaton, on Sunday, Jan. 13, at 7:10 p.m.  The suspects forcefully removed property from the victim. 

Suspect:  black male, 18-19, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, thin build, dreadlocks;

Suspect:  black male, 18-19, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, 170-180 pounds, thin build, and a black mask.

Armed Robberies

An armed robbery occurred on Monday, Jan. 14, at 10:55 a.m. at the Glenmont Metro Station. The suspects assaulted the victim with a weapon.     

An armed robbery occurred in the 11300 block of Elkin Street, Wheaton, on Monday, Jan. 14, at 12:20 p.m.  The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to obtain property from the victim. 

Suspect: Black male, 25, 6-foot, beard, wearing a gray/blue cap. 

An armed robbery occurred at Blueridge Avenue and Amherst Avenue, Wheaton, on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 12:54 a.m.  The suspect threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: Black male, 20-30, 5-foot-9 to 6-foot-1, 150-170 pounds, wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing.

An armed robbery occurred in the 1600 block of Ladd Street, Wheaton, on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 3:00 p.m.  The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Arrested: Male, 19, from Brookeville; Male, 18, from Wheaton. 

An armed robbery occurred at Sasa Dollars and Toys, 2563 Ennalls Ave., Wheaton, on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 9:33 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Arrested:  Male, 16, from Rockville; Male, 16 from Rockville; Male, 14, from Rockville.  

An armed robbery occurred at the Kiss and Ride Convenience store, 11175 Georgia Ave., Wheaton, on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 9:39 p.m.  The suspects, who wore black ski masks, threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.
