Editor's Picks for the Weekend

Apple Festival and Health Fair are two very different events this weekend.

As temperatures start to drop (a little bit) and we move into fall, check out the Apple Festival and Campfire this evening in Rock Creek Regional Park in Derwood. The fesitval will include a tour of Meadowside Nature Center as well as apple pressing and other hands-on activities. Stay for the campfire later on (and mostly the s'mores!).

Then on Saturday, rethink those s'mores at the Montgomery County Total Body Health Fair, held this year at Elm Street in Bethesda. Health and community organizations, including Holy Cross Hospital and the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services will be there. The fair will also include presentations on healthy cooking, hold yoga and other fitness classes, as well as massages available all day.

Wheaton Patch will also be covering Children's Day at Brookside Gardens, a free day full of activities and learning - this year on the theme of food.
