Free Fitness for Montgomery County Seniors
There are multiple programs offered by the county.
Seniors in Montgomery County have plenty of ways to stay fit, according to Elizabeth Ortega-Lohmeyer from the Montgomery County Recreation Center.
From basketball to volleyball, Lohmeyer adds there are 10 recreation centers to choose from.
Here are a few activities county seniors can take advantage of:
- Long Branch Senior Center, located at 8700 Piney Branch Road, offers a free exercise class. It can include seated yoga, senior fitness, seated volleyball, Tai Chi.
- Basketball is being offered in a few locations including the Bauer Drive Community Recreation Center, located at 14625 Bauer Dr. in Rockville, and Longwood Community Recreation Center located at 19300 Georgia Ave. in Brookeville.
- Volleyball is being offered at the Bauer Drive Community Recreation Center located at 14625 Bauer Dr. in Rockville and Mid-County Community Recreation Center located at 2004 Queensguard Rd. in Silver Spring.
