'Haunted Train' and 'Creepy Carousel' Open at Wheaton Regional Park

Starting this weekend, the train and carousel at Wheaton Regional Park will undergo their usual October transformation.

This Saturday at Wheaton Regional Park, the miniature train becomes a haunted train, and the historic Ovid Hazen Wells Carousel becomes a creepy carousel.

The train and carousel will operate from 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 6 -7, 11-14, 18-21, and 25 - 31. Montgomery Parks recommends checking Facebook before planning a trip in case the attractions have been closed due to bad weather.

Volunteers are needed to dress up in scary costumes and lurk along the haunted train route to frighten passengers. And yes--you can actually earn SSL hours for doing this.

Riders are asked to bring a canned food item to donate to Mid-County United Ministries.

See the Montgomery Parks website for more information about tickets.
