Irene's Pupusas III has reopened in the Glenmont Shopping Center, next to Staples. The restaurant, which serves Salvadoran and Honduran food, is at the end of the row near Georgia Avenue, in the space formerly occupied by the Mayflower Buffet.

A notice on the front window said that the restaurant's alcoholic beverage license is pending. The public hearing is scheduled for July 19 at 10 a.m. at the Rockville Library.

Have you been to the new location for Irene's Pupusas III yet? How do you like it? Tell us in the comments.

No too exciting. We were waiting for something good, a decent bar or some mainstream food establishment. There are too many pupusa restaurants in the area. We need new ideas so all businesses can flourish instead of compete.

My friends and I are thrilled Irene's is coming back to the area. It makes the best Honduran food in the area, which is not the same as Salvadoran food though there are similarities. The difference is probably lost on some people but then a lot of these unacculturated folks probably think Thai and Chinese food are the same thing. Can't wait to get me some Tajaditas de Platano and Baleadas. Thanks Patch for making my day!

NO!!! This is not apart of the Irene's family that is going to open where the carribean joint was formally located at. It is someone that has stolen what this family has worked so hard for. All they have done was take the name from the Irene's family but they will Never take what they have build from it
