Wheaton Mall, Wheaton Plaza, Westfield Wheaton--whatever it is that you call it, there's no denying that the shopping center plays a key role in Wheaton's business scene.

Here's a "Mall Watch" update from Patch for early December:

- Crazy 8, a clothing store for young children and babies, opened the Wednesday before Thanksgiving on the upper level near the food court.

- Teavana, an upscale tea store, has not yet opened, although its projected opening timeframe was late fall 2012.

- Auntie Anne's, the pretzel staple of malls around America, still bears a "Coming in Fall 2012" sign, despite the fact that it's now December.

What changes have you seen at the mall lately? Tell us in the comments and upload any pictures to our Pics & Clips gallery on Patch.

Why is it so difficult for Wheaton Plaza stores to open on the date they initially projected? This mall needs these stores (and Costco) badly to balance out all the cell phone, jewelry, and ghetto fabulous clothing stores. Personally, I can't wait for Mayorga!

TaL: That sounds about right. Do we have a date yet on the Costco opening? I read March 2013 somewhere, I sure hope it is sooner.

Thanks for your interest in Auntie Anne's! They are currently relocating the store and should have the new location open around the 15th of December. However, pretzels are available now at a satellite store in the center court. Hope this helps make your holiday shopping enjoyable!

Have a Pretzel Perfect day!
