Montgomery County Police blocked off the 2500 block of Kimberly Street between Brunswick and Torrance in Wheaton this morning, responding sometime around 10 a.m.

Police spokeswoman Angela Cruz said that police were investigating the area because they believe that James J. Lee, the gunman at the Discovery building Wednesday, may have resided in the area.

Two nearby residents said the house in question had been rented out by the room.

"[The owner] couldn't sell it," said Billy Shoemaker. "I think he saw the interest in renting it out."

Shoemaker identified the owner as a man speaking to police on the scene. Around 11:20 a.m., the man left.

Minutes before noon, FBI officials were spotted on the scene.
