Reader's Choice: Royal Mile Pub

Readers came out in droves to vote for the Royal Mile Pub.

We asked for best St. Patrick's Day bars, and readers responded: Royal Mile Pub.

And it wasn't even close. The Wheaton watering hole won by...well...a mile. Out of a total of 209 votes the Royal Mile received 157 votes.

The nearest competitor, both by proximity and by votes was Limerick Pub, who walked away with 38 votes.

And don't forget, be safe when drinking on St. Patrick's Day. If you're too drunk to drive, you can get a free cab ride up to $30 with the SoberRide program.

Check back next week for another Reader's Choice.

A nice recognition for the Royal Mile which has provided years of service to the Wheaton community. And beyond that Wheatonians are the big winners because they have two endearing neighborhood establishments to patronize -- the Mile and the Limerick -- that are within a few feet of each other. I hope the Mile can continue to be a venue for live bands, they and the Limerick have brought a lot of good music to Wheaton.
