Silver Spring Man Charged with Building a Destructive Device

Bolton is being held on a $750,000 bond, according to police officials.

 

The Prince George's Office of the Sheriff arrested a Silver Spring man Wednesday for manufacturing or possession of a destructive device. 

According to a warant for his arrest, Christopher Bolton had a disagreement with the victim in September 2011.

The warrant also describes how Bolton threatened to kill the victim and started to build a device consisting of screws, batteries,.40 caliber ammunition rounds, and an undetermined liquid in a plastic bottle.

The explosive device was discovered Feb. 7 in a shed located on Maple Trail in Aquasco, Maryland, according to police officials. The device was safely removed by the Office of the Fire Marshall’s Bomb Squad.

Bolton was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections, where he is being held on a $750,000 bond.
