Spotted in Kemp Mill: Broken Bench

Using the collective community knowledge, can we figure out how long this bench has been broken?

I saw this broken bench by the Kemp Mill Pond when I was walking by Wednesday morning, and I was wondering if anyone knows how it broke and how long it's been like that.

I'm guessing that it has something to do with the tree stump behind the bench.

Since Derecho. Tree fell over, smashed the bench. A few days later, the tree was gone. A couple weeks later, the bench got somewhat cleaned up.

UPDATE: A work request was generated for this bench on August 1st by the Park Manager. It has been assigned to one of the maintenance crews. The broken materials will be removed as soon as possible while we await a replacement.

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention, Esther!
