St. Patrick's Day Preview in Wheaton
The Limerick Pub and Royal Mile Pub prepare for March 17.
Each March 17, cries of “Slainte!” and “Kiss Me, I’m Irish!” echo from Irish pubs, restaurants and bars as Irish and non-Irish alike don green clothing and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Wheaton, home to the and the , will welcome St. Paddy’s Day revelers this Saturday.
According to a story in The Gazette, 52-year-old Wheaton resident Sunial Maximus looks to re-open the Royal Mile Pub, which former owner Mike Moore closed in January. A sign on the door is advertising a Friday, March 16 grand re-opening, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

Just down the street, the Limerick Pub is planning a day full of fun, starting with “Kegs & Eggs” from 9 to 11 a.m. featuring the music of Brendan Sheridan and Pat Farrell. Throughout the day beer specials, giveaways and a special menu will make those who miss it green with envy.
“My last name may be spelled M-I-L-L-O-N-E, but on Saturday, it becomes M-A-L-O-N-E-Y!” said Limerick Pub regular Mike Millone. “Everyone has a good time here at the Limerick and I look forward to celebrating with my Irish friends on Saturday.”
