The attempted robbery took place Sunday night in Wheaton.

Montgomery County police have arrested three teenage boys in an armed robbery attempt in Wheaton on Sunday night.

Tay Huynh, 16, of the 2700 block of Finley Street in Wheaton, is being charged as an adult, a police spokesperson told Patch. The other two suspects are 15-year-old boys from Silver Spring.

Police received a call at 8:07 p.m. on Sunday, with the report of an attempted robbery in the 2000 block of Arcola Avenue. The victim told police that three suspects were involved and that one of the suspects had allegedly displayed a knife.

Using descriptions supplied by the victim, police officers arrested three teenagers in the area who fit those descriptions. The victim then positively identified the suspects, a police spokesperson said.
