Wheaton Costco Opening Date Moves Forward

The Costco at Westfield Wheaton will open a few days earlier than planned this spring.

The Costco in Wheaton has a new opening date, according to a spokeswoman for Costco: April 10.

This Wednesday opening date is a few days earlier than the one Costco announced at the end of January. Costco's originally scheduled October 2012 opening at the mall in Wheaton was delayed because of unspecified construction issues.

Westfield Wheaton has already had Costco signage in place around the mall property for months, with a "coming soon" notice affixed. The membership warehouse store will inhabit the anchor spot previously occupied by a Hecht's department store.

After the delays in the fall, the Costco store was expected to open in March or April, according to a transcript of an earnings call by the Costco Wholesale Corporation CEO.

I believe there's a Costo sign-up station at Wheaton Plaza, near where the Costco will open.

Unless they have moved, which I doubt, since the last time I was at the Plaza, Costo has a membership office in the Plaza not too far from the Hallmark store on the second level in the same wing as the new Costo. Costo is o.k. but we don't need the
polution and long lines from a gas station. We have enough gas stations in Wheaton now. If you really need Costo gas - go to Laurel.

The Romeny's have been customers at Costco for years, as he stated in the election campaign. He would have made sure that Costco was approved for a gas station in Wheaton. Maryland as well as Montgomery County is Democratic and it's pay back time for the next four years , you might as well get used to it..

Actually Costco is considered the Democrats counter to Walmart because they pay living wages with benefits for all employees. So although the Romneys may have a Costco membership, the company itself is more pro Democrat. 96% of the money given to candidates in the 2012 election cycle by Costco employees was to Democrats.

David , you have that backwards. It is the DEMS that are the low wage profiteers and the ones who desperately want to bring more "immigrants" over to get paid under the table while unemployed Americans are passed over even for Wendys jobs. It works for your new ruling elite.

When you say that silly sentence like "although Romneys MAY have a .." You are hoping the dummed down see his name as a knee jerk insult like other terms you have been trying to co-opt in an Orwellian way
