Wheaton Crime: Assault Inside Giant Food

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from Sept. 3-11. The list published here is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or very near Wheaton.

Robberies

An assault/attempted robbery occurred in the 11500 block of Bucknell Drive, Wheaton on Sept. 6 at 8:25 p.m.  The suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to remove property.

Arrested: two males, 21, from Germantown.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the parking lot of Capital One Bank, 2315 Randolph Road, Glenmont, on Sept. 3 at 4:00 p.m.  The suspects assaulted the victim and removed property.

An attempted robbery occurred at Hillsdale Drive and Midvale Road in North Kensington on Sept. 9 at 10:00 p.m.  The suspects unsuccessfully attempted to removed property from the victims.

Suspects: two black males, 6’, 130 – 140 lbs, one with dreadlocks and the other with short cropped hair. 

An armed robbery occurred at Bucknell Drive and Bucknell Court, Wheaton on Sept. 10 at 3:15 p.m.  The suspect assaulted the victim with a stun gun and obtained property.  

Suspect: black male, 20-25, 5’6 – 5’8, muscular build, wearing track clothing.  

 

Assaults

An aggravated assault occurred in the 2200 block of Georgian Way, Wheaton, on Sept. 10 at 8:59 p.m.  The suspects are known to the victim.

Arrested: three males, ages 21, 22 and 23, all from Wheaton.   

An aggravated assault occurred inside Giant Food, 2900 University Boulevard, Wheaton, on Sept. 5 at 9:45 p.m.  The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon.

Suspect: White Hispanic male, 36, 5’10”, 180, heavy, dressed as a woman.
