Wheaton Crime: Theft Outside J.C. Penney

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime report for the Fourth District, from Sept. 24 - Oct. 2. The list published here is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or near Wheaton. 

An indecent exposure occurred in the 11500 block of Elkin Street in Silver Spring on Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. 

Arrested: Male, 33, from Capitol Heights. 

An aggravated assault occurred in the 11600 block of Broadview Drive in Silver Spring on Sept. 25 at 8:50 p.m.  The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, 47, from Silver Spring. 

A theft occurred outside J.C Penney at the Westfield Shopping Center in Silver Spring on Oct. 1 at 4 p.m.  The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim. 

A commercial burglary occurred at Sandy's Sweet Shoppe, 11141 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, on Oct. 1 around 7:57 p.m.  Forced entry. Property taken.
