C. Muncius, if that America never existed- can we now stop hearing how bigoted America is/was/always…Read More has been?
Thought not.
Truth is, the real bigotry is in rewarding people that broke into the nation as their first act here rather than rewarding the people that struggle for years to come here legally.
Kinda like refusing to let a loved one come over to visit yet giving a burglar the deed to your house...

I would like to know how many illegal immigrants are voting in Maryland elections, as the Motor…Read More Voter law has enabled them to register to vote. This all benefits the Democrat Party, who's officials are more than happy to give out more and more government cheese.

Ddad99 - Where in the Motor Voter law does it allow non documented people to vote? Would you prefer…Read More that non-documented people not be required to pass the MVA driving test?

Thousands are being bussed in? Who's paying for this? While I'm not confident that immigration reform will ever get to Obama's desk, having a bunch of ignorant white fools show their ignorance about immigration reform might help the measure get more traction.

Good comment Costco. I thought you would have to get out if your car to raise the Hood? Maybe…Read More eliminate that step and call 911 and just sit tight be safe. Your car is protection in crash.

Struck by vehicle technically is a pedestrian type accident but most are recorded as a number of…Read More other types. It was often a fatality cause for police officers-It's why they now pull off at an angle.
Losing engine power hinders brakes, steering, forward motion, etc. Stopped in the travel lane-my advice-Stay In Your Car-kepp your seat belt on. Stopping parallel to a guardrail traps a colliding vehicle into a direct hit to the rear, if you are in front look for an ambulance-you'll need one after the idiot texting rams you. Get on the other side of the rail. Stay there.
Watch the video-World's Worst Drivers. Officers with traffic stop-driver comes by sideswipes officer, vehicle stopped-drivers slam police car, sending it into stopped vehicle. Some years ago-first female-black Virginia State Trooper stops to assist bus on Rt 66 -BLAM, driver plows into her -dead on the spot.

Ok - I'll at least share what I've heard:
- Rising U15 Girls CASA team moving to Bethesda, possibly…Read More as a third team in that age group. Bethesda finishes their tryouts today so maybe we'll hear more after that.
- Rising U15 MSC Extreme was rumored to be disbanding but now seems to have a new coach and manager and advertising for players on the MSC website.
- FC Virginia - SYA - CYA story still seems muddled: Who will get those ECNL spots?
- Rising U16s MSC Coyotes White may be looking for a new coach (to be confirmed but the rumor is from a fairly reliable source).

Thanks for the memories of our favorite park, Hershey Park in Hershey, PA. The old wooden roller…Read More coaster was also our very favorite. There was also another favorite, much tamer Love Boat ride that went through a dark tunnel and then went up an incline and you got wet at the end of the ride. Visiting the Hershey Chocolate Factory was also a must on our trip to Hershey. We grew up in nearby York, PA.

Oooh, that Love Boat ride sounds really fun! We didn't see that one. We definitely had quite an…Read More experience there!

Going to Hershey Park had been a yearly event when we took our own three children to Hershey Park.…Read More They loved it there, too. All three of our children are now married and have taken their children to Hershey Park. We have also been to Hershey, PA to the famous Hershey Car Show, where we purchased a 1994 Chrysler LeBaron convertible. I enjoyed reading your article.

Cori, you have no idea how much this helps. I just found out some of the details about the Geo Bowl…Read More and it sounds like a much better situation for my kiddo than I was originally imagining. I'm going to reach out to the team tonight. I imagine that they will be receptive to my worries. I'm hoping that all of the worst case scenarios are in my head and only in my head, which is probably likely. :) Maybe I'll see you at the Geo Bowl!

Yes and yes to everything you say here.
The reality of parenthood is simultaneously far far worse…Read More and far far better than the fantasy could possibly be.
The truth about living with multiple pairs of giant stinky man shoes should be enough to make most of us think twice about filling our houses with male offspring.
And when did I sign up to help a hormonal 15 yr old write an impossible essay on a book he's not yet read, due in 3 days?

What is the difference between a politically charged link or study and a government charged...bought…Read More and paid for scientific study result..?
Chris W May 27, 2013 at 02:07 pm
Buck, the so called "Autisim link" with vaccines has been thoroughly disproven. The…Read More article you cite is based on junk science. There was only one study that showed a link and it was simply because the "scientist" falsified the research.
A ocomplete history is linked below:
http://theweek.com/article/index/242395/autism-and-vaccines-a-timeline-of-the-dubious-theory-and-the-ongoing-debate
People cling to the one fake study because they want to believe there is a link. I think the sleep study issue is a bit different.

With teachings like this Islam is sure to integrate successfully into any society:
[Qur'an 5:9] O…Read More ye who believe! be steadfast in the cause of Allah, bearing witness in equity; and let not a people’s enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice. Be always just, that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah. Surely, Allah is aware of what you do.
[Qur'an 4:136] "O ye who believe! be strict in observing justice, and be witnesses for Allah, even though it be against yourselves or against parents and kindred. Whether he be rich or poor, ..."
[Qur'an 16:91] "Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred; and forbids indecency, and manifest evil, and wrongful transgression. He admonished you that you may take heed."
Moreover, with Muslims like this it should be a peace of cake to integrate:
Muslimsforlife(dot)org - successfully collected 10,000 pints of blood to honor 3,000 dead of 9/11 (by saving 30,000 lives. Muslimsforpeace(dot)org - condemning terrorism, promoting Islamic value of loyalty to ones nation, peace, bus-ads and flyers and leaflets to promote the same.

No you're right jag how could I be so foolish. All we're doing is adjusting for inflation....of…Read More course. Owe'malley's campaign theme for 2016 can be "let me do to America what I've done to Maryland". According to your link MD is still in the highest 25% of states in taxes. Taxes don't rise with inflation like goods and services do for your information. If that were the case they could only go up and never down. Or maybe that's the way you want it.
jag May 23, 2013 at 06:31 pm
Amark, you appear to be confused. "Taxes don't rise with inflation like goods and services do…Read More for your information." No, when they are a percentage, they don't need to rise with inflation. However, when a tax is a set $ amount, e.g. a 20 cent fuel tax, the buying power of that 20 cents continues to degrade, over time, according to the rise in inflation. Hence the need to raise the tax from time to time (20 years was far too long to wait). Alternatively, you can simply peg the tax to inflation so it automatically adjusts, which is what the GA (smartly) decided to do this time around. Get it now?

BURGERS IN MODERATION
As a big fan of burgers, I have found that you can appreciate burgers even…Read More more if you eat them periodically rather than chomp them down every day. I look forward to every burger I eat because it is a treat rather than a daily habit. My waistline would be even bigger if I consumed burgers every 24 hours. The reason that we have so many "fatsos" plodding the streets of Downtown Bethesda is because too many Bethesdans are hamburger- addicted, requiring their daily Burger-Fix. So, make your "way" to the Salad Bar rather than to the Burger Joint,

Vegan burgers. I won't support the dastardly meat industry. Vegan burgers are very low fat with zero…Read More cholesterol, and there are more varieties coming down the pike all the time. Give me a vegan burger with lettuce, a slice of "beefsteak" tomato, a pickle, some vegan mayo, and I will behave myself all day.
