Deborah Bond Performs in Wheaton Tonight

Wheaton resident and singer performs with band "Third Logic," as part of the Urban District's summer concert series.

Deborah Bond describes herself as a shy child while growing up in New Haven, Connecticut.

“While I was involved with music since an early age, I didn’t really come out of my shell until I started to perform in musicals and talent shows during high school,” says Bond.

Bond moved to Washington, DC, to attend American University. Her music style began to form into what it is today during her college years, when she met new producers and musicians. Bond’s music, while rooted in soul and R&B, is a mix of genres, including jazz and funk. Chaka Khan, Annie Lenox, and Prince are just a few of the artists that she lists as inspirations.

These influences can be heard on Bond’s second album, Madame Palindrome. She created this record with her band/production team, Third Logic. Bond says of Third Logic, “They have been playing together since their teens. Their music has definitely shaped my sound.”

Third Logic is Robbie McDonald on guitar, Chuck Evans on bass, and Kinnard Cherry on drums. They will join Bond on stage this Friday night in Wheaton.

A Wheaton resident, Bond says the community “can expect a lot of energy, a lot of good music, great instrumentation, positive vibes, strong performing and a new, unique, positive experience.”
