Weekend Events in Wheaton: Easter Egg Hunt, Marshmallow Toasting and More

Looking for something exciting to do this weekend? Check out some of the fun things going on around Wheaton and Montgomery County.

Campfire and Cabin Tour

  • Where: Brookside Nature Center, 1400 Glenallan Ave, Wheaton, MD
  • When: Friday, March 29, 6-7 p.m.
  • Description:Gather around the campfire to toast marshmallows and listen to the sweet sounds of early spring. Bring your own hotdogs and buns; toasting sticks provided. Then learn about life in the 1870s while exploringthe Harper Family Log Cabin.  All attending must register and pay at ParkPASS.org.
  • Cost: $3

Planting Spring Flowers

  • Where: Brookside Nature Center, 1400 Glenallan Ave, Wheaton, MD
  • When: Saturday, March 30, 2-3 p.m.
  • Description:Paint a pretty flower pot, then plant some native flower seeds in it and learn how to make them grow! Look for early spring flowers along our trail as we stroll over hill and dale.  All attending must register and pay at ParkPASS.org.
  • Cost: $6

Easter Egg Hunt

  • Where:  Meadowside Nature Center, 5100 Meadowside Ln, Rockville
  • When:  Saturday, March 30, 12 p.m.
  • Description:  Meadowside Nature Center invites locals to come observe and ask questions about hawks, owls, vulture and bald eagle during their feeding time.
  • Cost: Free

National Capital Trolley Museum – Spring Break Special

  • Where:  National Capital Trolley Museum, 1313 Bonifant Rd, Colesville
  • When:  Friday, March 29, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Description:  The National Capital Trolley Museum celebrates the arrival of spring with a special program, Step Lively, Please, Aboard the Spring Break Special.
  • Cost: $5

Easter Breakfast

  • Where:  Covenant United Methodist Church, 20301 Pleasant Ridge Dr, Montgomery Village
  • When:  Sunday, March 31, 7:15 a.m.
  • Description:  Breakfast will include scrambled eggs along with muffins, bagels, fruit, juice, and coffee.
  • Cost:  Free

Laugh Riot at the Hyatt

  • Where:  Hyatt Regency Bethesda, 1 Bethesda Metro Ctr, Bethesda
  • When:  Saturday, March 30, 8 p.m.
  • Description:  3 local comics perform, $25 cash prize joke contest for non-com audience members after the show.
  • Cost: $10

Bethesda Central Winter Farm Market

  • Where: 7600 Arlington Rd, Bethesda
  • When:  Sunday, March 31, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  Bethesda Central Winter Farm Market with over 30 vendors will be available 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Cost: Free

Easter Egg Hunt

  • Where:  12700 Middlebrook Rd, Germantown
  • When:  Saturday, March 30, 12 p.m.
  • Description:  Hunt features over 50,000 plastic stuffed eggs.  Kids will hunt in age groups.  Eggstravaganza includes entertainment, free Little Caesar’s pizza, refreshments, face painting, carnival games, pictures with the Easter bunny and more.
  • Cost:  Free
