Bites Nearby: Raku
You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Wheaton Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:
— At Raku the food echoes the décor: fresh and slightly upscale, with a little personality. Raku’s pan-Asian menu includes the usual—dumplings, sushi, pad thai—but offers plenty of unique options as well (see: Miso Marinated Chilean Sea Bass).
For those who like to enjoy an adult beverage from time to time, the sake list is long, and the Asian beer options are not limited to Sapporo and Kirin, i.e. it's well worth the $10 splurge for the stout.
Make certain to try the dashi broth soup (you can choose between several variations of noodles and meat and veggies). It is an elixir of sorts, and will appeal to the health-conscious.

Finally, a bit of advice: parking is usually as hassle, so expect to pay for a garage spot or take a long ride on the Metro (or a short ride on the bus). Also, entrees range widely in price depending on if you order sushi exclusively, or venture off into the other aspects of the menu. But expect to pay between $60 to $100 for dinner for two, including drinks.
