Music, art, comedy--and even a trip back in time!

When/Where: Friday, August 26, 7 p.m., Triangle Ln. & Reedie Dr., Wheaton (Wheaton Triangle)

Why Go? Let Deborah Bond and her band take you on an eclectic, sonic trip under the stars. Mixing Progressive/Soul/R&B/Funk/Alternative, they’ll grab you from every audible angle.

When/Where: Friday, August 26, 11 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., , 11160 Veirs Mill Rd.

Why Go? Kids will be inspired by the featured story time books, It's Me! and I'm Gonna Like Me. Then, they’ll express their creative sides by making hand mirrors and self-portraits to take home. Once they’ve nourished their spirits, they’ll nourish their tummies with a nutritious snack.

When/Where: Saturday, August 27, 5–8 p.m. (Dinner 5-6:30 pm, show at 6:45pm), , Wheaton, 11225 Fern St.

Why Go? Have some food, have some laughs, and help some friends. This dinner and comedy show, which will benefit veterans and needy kids, will feature sing-alongs and audience participation.

Pricing: $7.50

 

When/Where: Saturday & Sunday, August 27-28 (and ongoing through October), 1821 Crownsville Rd., Annapolis.

Why Go? Where else can you watch knights jousting and eat a turkey drumstick the size of a battle axe? (And no, the restaurant "Medieval Times" is not an acceptable answer). The “Ren Fest” is truly a trip back in time, but only a short trip from here. 

Pricing: Adults $19, Seniors $16, Children $9.

 

When/Where: Friday-Sunday, August 26, 27, 28 (and ongoing through Sept 5) 2200 York Rd, Lutherville (MD State Fairgrounds).

Why Go? You’ve been training all summer long at your county fairs. Now, it’s time to see if you can hang at the big show! Come to the State Fair and find out.

Pricing: Adults $8, Children $6, FREE for kids 5 and under.

 

 

When/Where? Saturday, August 27, 4:30-8:00 p.m., 908 Ellsworth Dr., Silver Spring (downtown Silver Spring)

Why go? This celebration of youth will showcase self-expression through music, poetry, painting, and other mediums. There will also be a clothing and back-to-school drive to benefit Hearts & Homes For Youth.
