What You Need to Know About Metro This Weekend: Feb. 4

Weekend track work on the Red, Blue lines.

Metro released their full track work schedule for February this week — and there's some significant Red Line delays, as well as other track work. Here's what you can expect this weekend.

  • Single-tracking this weekend between New York and Rhode Island avenues from 10 p.m. on Friday to close on Sunday. Add 20 minutes to journeys downtown. There will also be single-tracking between Friendship Heights and Medical Center.
  • After 10 p.m. each day next week, there will also be single-tracking between New York and Rhode Island avenues. The work, which will go on throughout the month of February, is for track improvements.
  • Outside the Red Line, the only other major delay this weekend is between Braddock Road to Van Dorn Street. It's a 30-minute delay there for work on the Wilson Bridge project.

Check back here every Friday to see what's in store for the Metro each week.
