Bites Nearby: The Melting Pot

The Melting Pot in Gaithersburg - a quick jaunt up 270 or northwest cut-through using Rockville streets - is a yummy way to get your fondue fix, sure. But it is also a a great way to celebrate as a group.

Large parties are encouraged at The Melting Pot any time, however, on the second Thursday of every month a special Girls Night Out special four-course meal package is available. The cost is just $30 per person for a whole lot of food, most of which is consumed in the fun fondue tradition. Reservations are encouraged, as this is a popular promotion and space is limited.

The Girls Night Out Menu includes:

• Three cheese fondue dips for fresh bread and veggies: Feng Shui, Spinach Artichoke, and Fiesta cheese fondues

• A Melting Pot House Salad with choice of peppercorn ranch dressing or house vinaigrette

• A Girls’ Night Out entrée plate which included teriyaki sirloin, marinated breast of chicken, white shrimp, and pasta to cook in broth fondue

• Four chocolate fondue dips for fresh fruit, pastries, marshmallows and treats: Disaronno Meltdown, Cookies ‘n Cream Marshmallow Dream, Yin & Yang and Flaming Turtle chocolate fondues

As a mom, my kids' activities rule my weekends. So group outings during the week are the often the best way to connect with fellow adult friends. The Melting Pot menu and venue are great for book clubs, bachelorette parties, baby showers or just plain old birthdays
