Bites Nearby: The Organic Falafel Stand

The food truck has lots of options for vegans and vegetarians.

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in, but we've got a better idea. Each week, Wheaton Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that's worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

Add The Organic Falafel Stand (OFS) to your vegan/vegetarian destinations to check out in the area. Featuring fresh falafel, taboulli, baba ganouj and hummus, OFS is capitalizing on the region's nascent food truck movement.

OFS also offers grilled tofu, vegan baklava and vegan chocolate cake, for those looking for more vegan options than usual.

As it's conveniently located in the CITGO station across from the Takoma Park Co-op, you can place your order, do some shopping, come back and chow down on some lunch afterwards.

Prices range from $6 bucks for a sandwich to $10 for a platter—more than reasonable for what you get.
