Who's up for some green beer?

Patch sites in Silver SpringWheatonKensington and Takoma Park are teaming up to find the best place for a St. Patrick's Day celebration in the area for our third Readers' Choice contest.

It's easy to participate: Simply vote for your favorite St. Paddy's spot in the poll below. Choose from the following places:

  • - 911 Ellsworth Dr., Silver Spring
  • - 2407 Price Ave., Wheaton
  • - 11301 Elkin St Wheaton
  • Quarry House Tavern - 8131 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring
  • - 8131 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring

What makes your favorite the best of the bunch? Don't see your favorite on the list? Tell us about it in the comment box below the poll.

Click on the link of your favorite spot in the list above, then—on its Patch Places listing—rate it and review it. It's that easy!

The poll starts on Monday, March 12, at 5 a.m. and closes at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 16. The winning restaurant's name will be posted on Patch after noon on Friday.

Because this poll is not scientific, the votes will not be the sole consideration in choosing the winner. The winner will be determined by Patch editors, and the selection will be based on poll results, ratings and reviews. Please vote only once per survey and per Patch.

Regarding a rush to celebrate at the Royal Mile: I wish the new owners all-the-best and hope they continue with the Scottish traditions, great food, fine beverages, and terrific music. However, I will celebrate only when it is known that the staff, which went home at Christmas without salary, has been compensated. Doors closed in December with multiple thousands being owed to workers/friends. I speak as an authority, having helped pay some of the final salaries. The RM owes me nearly $4K.

I would vote for a Pub Crawl between the Royal Mile Pub and the Limerick Pub. That's the way to go! Support your local Irish watering holes!

I've been going to RMP since it first opened. They have really pushed the resturant thing more than the pub thing in recent years. Don't really blame them if thats what they have to do but the better place just to hang these days is Limrick. Limrick always has something going on and is drinker friendly. RMP needs to step its game up now that they have some competion.
