Summer of Lunch: Nut House Pizza

This pizza place is upper crust.

Although I’ve lived in Wheaton for a year, I’ve fallen back into familiar eating patterns and haven’t scratched the surface of the wide world of food options in town. This summer, at lunchtime, I’ll be seeking out a place that I haven’t stepped into at all, and trying their signature items.

motto, or tag line is "Eat Pizza. Enjoy Art.". While I can't say for sure if I truly appreciated the art on the walls of Nut House, I can guarantee you that I did indeed eat pizza and enjoyed it.

Nut House has great basic pizza, especially for those who keep kosher. I ordered two plain slices and pita chips to go. The total came to just over $8.00. Nut House's lunch special (good for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) is two slices, a small french fry order and a soda has moved up into the $7 and half range (previous $6.95), but is still a great deal.

The pizza itself has a crisp crust, with a good portioning of cheese and sauce. Although the Nut House pizza looks much like any classic slice, the taste goes slightly beyond the cookie cutter pizzerias.

The pita chips, while a little on the greasy side, were freshly made and piping hot. Nut House isn't somewhere I'd sit down and eat, but rather a quick stop for a on-the-go slice that's filling and serves all kinds of pizza cravings.
