Sietsema is out with his list of the top restaurants that opened in 2012 in the Washington, DC, area. Highlights of his list include:

Elisir - Italian, Penn Quarter

Fiola - Italian, Penn Quarter

Mintwood Place - American, Adams Morgan

Rogue 24 - American, Shaw

Curry Mantra - Indian, Fairfax

Family Meal - American, Frederick

Pabu, Japanese, Baltimore

Westend Bistro, West End, DC
