What You Need to Know About Metro This Weekend: Feb. 11

Single-tracking a bit closer to home.

If you're heading downtown for a weekend activity, be sure to know what's in store for your Metro trip. Here's scheduled track work for this weekend and the upcoming week, but no guarantee that recent escalators troubles .

  • Red Line single-tracking will move further up each end of the line. Starting Friday at 10 p.m., until close on Sunday, there will be single-tracking from Forest Glen to Takoma and between Shady Grove and Twinbrook.
  • Adding a little more travel time if you're getting on the Blue Line won't hurt either. Metro will be single-tracking trains between Stadium-Armomy and Addison Road on the same time-table.
  • During the next week, late night (after 10 p.m.) single tracking will continue between New York Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue, as well as between Shady Grove and Twinbrook.

The Metro system will be even more of a mess for the holiday weekend coming up, but we'll have complete updates next Friday.
