Wheaton High School Volleyball Team beat Kennedy.

Wheaton High School volleyball team defeated Kennedy High School to improve to 1-1.

The Lady Knights of Wheaton High School played a close match with rival Kennedy High School on Wednesday.  Each set was close with the Knights starting off slow then pulling ahead.  Wheaton senior Mia Minguela got the winning point in the final set when she was caught with her back to the net as the ball arrived.  In an awkward backwards set, she sent the ball to the middle of the Cavaliers pack which went unreturned.  The 3-0 shutout at home gave the Knights their first victory, improving to 1-1 on the young season.  Wheaton next travels to Paint Branch on Tuesday for a 3:30pm match up against the Panthers.
