High School Field Hockey Players Get Ready for 2013

Recently players from Wheaton High School, Rockville High School, Northwood High School, Kennedy High School, Blair High School and Richard Montgomery High School participated in a 3 day clinic in Silver Spring.  The Raymond Locke Foundation sponsored the clinic to further the game of Field Hockey to what is considered an underserved area of Montgomery County.  Raymond Locke Foundation Director Abby Locke, a Bethesda Chevy Case High School and St. Mary's College graduate, organized the clinic with help from other former Field Hockey players from the University of Maryland and St. Mary's College including Wheaton High School coach, Alex Helberg.  Both veteran and novice players received instruction, conducted drills and scrimmaged in games all to advance their play.  Players will be able to take what they've learned to their high school teams which have already begun tryouts for the 2013 season.  This is the 6th year the foundation has conducted the clinic in the Silver Spring area.
