Knights Win 5th Game In a Row.

The Knights boys basketball team dug themselves an early hole at the beginning of the 2013-2014 season.  Wheaton would begin games strong but fail to hold on to leads and subsequently lost 5 of the their first 6 games.  They entered the holiday season looking for a turnaround and perhaps found it in the Spartan Classic Tournament at Laurel High School over the Winter Break.  The Knights came away with 2 wins (Northwestern HS and Southern HS) and a lot of confidence.  Since then the Knights have played with determination and are on a tear they'd like to continue.   The boys defeated the Northwood Gladiators 78-62 on Saturday, Jan 11th to win their 5th game in a row and improve their record to 6-5. The Gladiators took a brief early lead (6-1), but once the Knights rallied and eclipsed Northwood, they never looked back.  Senior Seydina Diop hit a 3-pointer in the final second of the first half giving the Knights a commanding 41-24 lead.  Wheaton Senior Ibrahim Kallon lead all scorers with 22 points, Wheaton Senior Michael Patterson had 13 points and Wheaton Senior Seydina Diop had his season high of 10 points.  Northwood Sophomore Brandon Richardson lead the Gladiators with 13 points and Junior Jauvenel Leveill, Jr added 11 points.  Northwood drops to 1-10 on the season.  The Knights next face Seneca Valley (1-10) at home on Friday, Jan 17th at 7pm.
