Wheaton High School Boys Soccer Win County 3A Conference

On Saturday, October 19th the Wheaton High School Boys soccer team defeated Damascus High School, 1-0.  The victory sealed the Knights first Conference title in years with a 5-0-1 record.  They have a 7-2-2 record overall.  Watkins Mill took 2nd place with a 5-1-1 conference record and 6-3-2 overall.
Wheaton's Senior Forward, and team scoring leader (11 Goals), Juan Castellon scored in the first few minutes of the game after receiving a throw in from Senior defender Roman Guzman.  That proved to be all the Knights needed as they held on for the rest of the game.  Senior Goalie Oskar Amaguana recorded his 4th shutout of the season.
This marks the teams best record since the 2009 season when they finished 8-4.  The Hornets dropped to 4-6-1 on the season.  The Knights wrap up their 2013 regular season tonight against Magruder High School at 7pm.  The Boys State 3A playoff schedule has been released and Wheaton will get a "bye" in the first round and on October 29th will face the winner of the Einstein HS vs Damascus HS contest played on October 25th.
