Beltway Resurfacing Starts Next Week

Work will be from Colesville Road exit to Seminary Road overpass.

From now until Thanksgiving, the local stretch of the Beltway will be reworked and resurfaced.

The $3.7 million project will cover more than four miles of the Beltway from the Route 29 exit (Colesville Road) to the Seminary Road overpass. Contract crews will be grinding and resurfacing all highway lanes as well as the ramps onto and off of Georgia Avenue as well as the interchanges with Colesville Road.

This section was last resurfaced in 2004 and the existing pavement is rutting and cracking.
