Brookside Nature Center Sweetens Up for the Annual Maple Sugar Festival
Turning sap into maple syrup at the Annual Maple Sugar Festival.
On Sunday, Brookside Nature Center held its annual Maple Sugar Festival. The festival, in its 30th year, featured children's activities, music, as well as a movie about the process of turning maple sap into syrup.
Visitors took walks around the sugar maple tree groves that are used to drill sap for syrup, and mostly importantly, sampled the sweet product - naturally made syrup from evaporator pans set up near the cabins. Complimentary pancakes were served througout the day.
