Gas Line Struck on Luttrell Lane

Washington Gas was at the scene and repaired the line.

Update, 9:29 p.m.: A three-quarter-inch cap on a gas pipe at 11119 Luttrell Lane was struck earlier tonight, according to Monica Garreau, a spokesperson for Washington Gas.

The homeowners were alerted by the smell of gas and reported it to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, Garreau said.

Washington Gas arrived on the scene shortly after firefighters responded and repaired the line.

Garreau said that she could could not confirm how the line was struck.

Original post, 8:55 p.m.: A two-inch gas line was struck at 11119 Luttrell Lane in Wheaton, said Assistant Chief Scott Graham of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.

The gas has been shut off, and Washington Gas is on its way to the scene. Graham said.
