Grab & Go Kids Planner: Feb. 23 through March 2

Tasty treats, amazing feats, creative rhymes and good times are what's in store for Wheaton families this week.

It's Wednesday, and that means it's time to check out our Grab & Go Kids Planner to see what Wheaton has to offer kids and families this week. As always, we'd love to hear from you if there are any local, family-friendly events that we missed. Let us know, and we'll be sure to keep an eye out for them in the future.

We were a little upset when we woke up on Tuesday to the green grass covered in snow. But that's not going to stop us from finding some fun for our Wheaton families. There's plenty to do as we wait for the sun to melt away the ice and snow.

• FAMILY FUN NIGHT: 
Where/When: Get your dancing shoes on and head over to  on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Why Go: Have a blast dancing, and help out the fourth-graders at Rolling Terrace Elementary School.

Where/When:  on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Why Go: This is the last of this year's local Chinese New Year celebrations! Don't miss out on a chance for the whole family to watch an amazing performance.

• BLACK HISTORY MONTH  
Where/When: The historic Josiah Henson Special Park is where you'll find the poets on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Why Go: As Black History Month comes to an end, the whole family can to listen to poets read about the Underground Railroad, slavery and freedom.

• CAMP AHAVA  
Where/When:  on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: We believe FREE and FUN are a great combination. Add to that a chance to learn about a local camp for the kids, and what more could you ask for?

Where/When:  on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Why Go: Pancakes for supper is one of our favorite things. What a great way to enjoy a meal with the kids and give to a good cause. We're all for anything that involves a FREE stack of pancakes.
Pricing: Order a short stack of pancakes for FREE. Donations are encouraged but not required.
