MCCAB Discusses Possible Public Service Commission Regulations, County Executive Meetings

Meeting cut short by Executive's Budget Forum at Crossways.

While the January Mid-County Citizen's Advisory Board was held in the same location as the budget forum, that two- hour discussion with County Executive Isiah Leggett led to a only a few, but significant items being discussed.

  • Mary Scholl reported on the possible regulations that the Public Service Commission would impose on Pepco in the wake of complaints of poor service reliability during storm and regular periods. "It's absolutely amazing, how comprehensive it is," Scholl said.
  • County Boards and Commissions  (like MCCAB) will change how they have their yearly meeting with the Count Executive, Natalie Cantor, director of the Mid-County service center reported. This year, all the county boards and commission will speak with Leggett in a town hall format for most of a day, as opposed to individual 30-minute meetings. MCCAB vice chair Gam Wijetunge will post specific issues that MCCAB would like to bring up during the meeting on the group's blog, in order to get feedback and fulfill the public requirement for the board's activities.
