Public Forum: Proposed Changes to Ride On Bus Route in Wheaton

The public forum will take place Wednesday at Highland Elementary School.

A Ride On bus route that goes through Wheaton may be changing, according to a notice posted on the Ride On website.

The Division of Transit Services will hold a public forum on proposed changes to Route 38 on Wednesday, April 17, at Highland Elementary School, 3100 Medway Street, Silver Spring.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and end once all the speakers have presented their testimony.

Route 38 currently runs from the Wheaton Metro Station to the White Flint Station through the Connecticut Avenue Estates and Montclair Manor communities and then continues along Veirs Mill Road, Newport Mill Road, Parker Avenue, Broadview Street, Lytle Street, Medway Street and Claridge Road. The proposed changes would reroute the bus between Parker Avenue and Claridge Road along Judson Road and Medway Street. 

Individuals and representatives of organizations who would like to speak at the public forum must make their request on or before April 15 by email or in writing to the Division of Transit Services, Ride On Public Forum, 101 Monroe Street, 5th Floor, Rockville, Maryland 20850. Prospective speakers should provide their name, home address, telephone number, e-mail address and organization and bring two printed copies of their testimony for the record. Persons unable to attend the meeting may send comments by email, fax or letter through 5 p.m. on April 24.
