Red Line Single Tracks from Takoma to Forest Glen

Track work on the Metro this weekend will take place between the Takoma and Forest Glen stations.

Track work will continue on the Red Line this weekend, starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16.

Red Line trains will single track between Takoma and Forest Glen "to allow for platform reconstruction, fiber-optic cable installation and rail improvements," according to Metro's website.

Throughout the weekend, trains will run every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont, Metro reported.

"On Saturday and Sunday, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. each day, additional trains will operate between Shady Grove and Fort Totten, resulting in service about every 10 minutes between those stations," Metro added.

Metro advised passengers traveling through the work zone to allow about 15 minutes of additional travel time.
