1. Today’s forecast: Cloudy, with scattered light rain (and possibly snow flurries) in the morning, with a 50 percent chance of rain in the afternoon. Temperatures around 40, dropping to 30 in the evening.

2. Tonight: Watch a free screening of at the Brookside Gardens Visitor Center from 7-9 p.m.

3. In case you missed it on Patch, Montgomery County Police Officer Edward Paden this morning. Paden was the first police officer inside of the Discovery Communications Headquarters building in Silver Spring when employees were held hostage inside the lobby on September 2010.
