Malcolm Wilson takes the grab-bag nature our our post to ask a question of his own about the Costco Gas Station special exception hearing sign:

Anyone else concerned about poor placement of the Special Exceptions Hearing sign for the Costco Gas station? Impossible to see either east or west bound on University Blvd unless you want to park in the plaza and walk down and read it. It's almost as if the county wants to do the minimum required to serve notice. This is too important to the surrounding community to not have better placement.

On , we chatted about what to do with the summer with kids now out for the season. Kristen Walker Painemilla has taken a slightly different sort of vacation.

This year, we have done summer a bit differently. I've been travelling way to much for my job this spring and felt I needed some time with the kids. So we've packed up our things and headed to the Ocean Citym NJ. My parents have a home that we don't get use as much as we could so this year we are spending a month. I negotiated working virtually for two weeks and then two weeks of vacation, with summer camp for my oldest included. So far it's been nice as we arrived before the official tourist season starts this week. Luckily it's the end of my fiscal year at work so I've spent most of my time on paperwork which I can do in the mornings and after the kids go to bed! So far it's been nice as we have also been able to see friends and relatives from the PA/NJ areas that we don't always get to see.

Ocean City, NJ is a great place for families and they have their own patch as well!http://oceancity.patch.com/ and have a great calendar of activities all summer: http://services.ocnj.us/. We definitely take advantage of all the activites they have to offer plus daily bike rides on the boardwalk and playing in the sand!

The rest of the summer we are back in DC with Spanish camp, then each of my two kids will spend a week with their grandparents for one on one time and a weekend trip or two to Lancaster or Williamsburg. And yes, we love Jessica's list of summer activities for kids in Washington!!

We'll need a vacation from the summer!!
