DARCARS ROCKVILLE ROTARY TWILIGHT RUNFEST

The 29th annual DARCARS-Rockville Rotary Twilight RunFest will be held in downtown Rockville on Saturday evening July 19, 2014.

This major community event attracts over 7000 attendees each year to this family-oriented midsummer night’s festival of music, refreshments, running and fun.  Nearly 2,500 runners will race for 8 kilometers through Rockville neighborhoods.  The RunFest race is a favorite of regional runners because it is a fast, level race and is run in the cool evening during the hot summer.  

New this year is the 2 mile “Family Fitness Walk” through the nearby neighborhoods for those who wish to participate and receive a race shirt.

The DARCARS-Rockville Rotary RunFest is a fund-raising event, and 100% of the money raised from sponsors goes to charity.  This event has raised and given-away more than a million dollars since 1985.  Last year’s event raised over $76,000 for the two sponsoring organizations:   The Rockville Rotary Recreation Fund which provides opportunities for local kids and seniors in-need to participate in City recreation programs, and the Rockville Rotary Foundation which funds numerous local and international charities.
