In April 2012 the County Council passed legislation (Bill 6-12) to assist small businesses that are negatively impacted by county redevelopment projects, and directed the Dept of Economic Development to create a program to do so. 


The proposed Small Business Assistance Program is the result of this legislation (Proposed Executive Regulation 24-12). Before submission to the Council, the proposal is open for comment by the public until Jan. 31.

This is the legislation that the Coalition for Fair Redevelopment of Wheaton worked to put in place however this will be in effect county-wide.
