Crime Report: Armed Robbery in Glenmont Shopping Center

The following information was provided by the Montgomery County Police Department. Arrests or charges do not indicate a conviction.

Montgomery County police have released the latest crime report for the Fourth District, from June 3-11. This list is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or near Wheaton and Glenmont:

- An armed robbery occurred in the Glenmont Shopping Center in Silver Spring on Thursday, June 6, at 2:51 p.m. Police describe the robber as a white male, 5 foot 7 inches, 140 pounds, unshaven and dressed in all brown, with shaggy brown hair.

- A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 11800 block of Valleywood Drive in Silver Spring on Saturday, June 8, at 12:15 a.m.

- A residential burglary occurred in the 1600 block of Arbor View Road in Silver Spring on Thursday, June 6, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Unknown entry; property taken. 

- An attempted strong-arm robbery occurred in the 11100 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring on Wednesday, June 12, at 1:54 a.m. Police say the suspects are four females.
