D.C. Air National Guard Airman Found Dead in Inner Harbor

The 29-year-old Baltimore resident went missing in Fells Point last weekend.

A body pulled from the Inner Harbor at Fells Point in Baltimore was that of a D.C. Air National Guard airman who was reported missing last weekend, according news reports.

Evan Curbeam, 29, was out with friends in Fells Point last Saturday night, according to the Baltimore Sun, and was last seen around 1:30 a.m. walking to his car to go home.

Police pulled Curbeam's body from the water in Fells Point around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Sun. 

A Baltimore native, Curbeam served in the D.C. Air National Guard for two years, CBS Baltimore reports. He was recently selected as the District of Columbia National Guard’s Airman of the Year for 2013, according to CBS Baltimore.

The D.C. Air National Guard released a statement saying, "He was a friend, patriot and consummate professional. This is a tragic loss. I ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."

Curbeam had a 4-year-old daughter, according to CBS. Police have not said whether foul play may have been involved in Curbeam's death.
