Cathy Asato, spokesperson for WMATA, said the accident was a employee who tripped and fell while working. The employee only sustained minor injuries.

Montgomery Fire and Rescue responded to a call at 11:40 a.m. to 12750 Layhill Road, at the Glenmont Metro Yard.
According to Capt. Oscar Garcia, rescue workers are evaluating an individual who fell with non-life threatening injuries. While additional units were called because of the electrical system and danger associated with the third rail, there is no confirmation that the individual touched or was injured by the rail.
