New Wheaton Rescue Squad Station Faces Delays

Report: The general contractor is going out of business.

So close to completion, and now this.

The new station for the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad being built on Georgia Avenue is facing some delays, Montgomery County officials say. That's because the general contractor, Milestone Construction, is going out of business, The Washington Post reported.

The property at the corner of Arcola Avenue, across from the Wheaton Library, is owned by the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad, and the squad is sharing the cost of building the station with the county. The squad currently operates out of a station on Grandview Avenue in Wheaton.
