Police Blotter: Dec. 19-27

Police report that nothing was taken in two commercial burglaries on Price Avenue on Dec. 20.

 

The Montgomery County Police have released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from Dec. 19-27. This list is not comprehensive, but rather selects the ones that occurred in or very near Wheaton.

Residential burglaries

A residential burglary occurred in the 11500 block of Taber Street in Silver Spring on Dec. 21 at 2:45 p.m. Unknown entry; nothing taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 11000 block of Burnley Terrace in Silver Spring, Dec. 26, from 2:00 – 8:07 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

Commercial burglaries

An attempted commercial burglary occurred at Nee’s Hair Salon, 2306 Price Avenue in Silver Spring on Dec. 20 between 12:01 a.m. – 8:43 a.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at U Nails, 2318 Price Avenue in Silver Spring on Dec. 20 between 12:01 a.m. – 8:43 a.m. Forced entry; nothing taken.

North of Wheaton, two commercial burglaries occurred in the shopping center at the corner of Randolph Road and Veirs Mill Road.

  • Danny’s Barber Shop, 4219 Randolph Road in Silver Spring, on Dec. 26 at 1:00 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.
  • Kim’s Hair Salon 4221, Randolph Road in Silver Spring, on Dec. 26 at 1:00 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

Strong-arm robbery

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 3500 block of Weller Road in Silver Spring on Dec. 20 at 7:30 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.
