Police Blotter: April 4 to 12

Residential, commercial burglaries are on the rise.

Montgomery County Police released crime statistics for the week of April 4 to April 12 on Thursday. In addition to the crimes described here, the 4th district reported five thefts from vehicles and two stolen vehicles in the Wheaton area.

Residential Burglary:

  • A burglary occurred in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on April 6. Property was taken through forced entry. 
  • While nothing was taken, a forced-entry break-in occurred in the 2900 block of Parker Avenue between April 6 and April 9.
  • On April 5 at 8;24 p.m., a burglary attempt occurred in the 2100 block of Plyers Mill Road - nothing was taken, but forced entry was attempted. 
  • Between April 5 and April 11, a burglary occurred in the 2200 block of Glenallen Avenue. Property was taken through unforced entry. 
  • Two residential burglaries took place close to one another in time and location: attempted force entry in the 3800 block of Everton Street on April 9 at 3:35 a.m., and forced entry with nothing taken overnight between April 8 and April 9 on the 3600 block of Everton. It is unclear if the two are related.

  Commercial Burglary:

  • Glenmont Beer & Wine, at 12312 Georgia Avenue was the scene of a commercial burglary on April 10 at 3:55 a.m. Property was taken through forced entry.
